Ramawatar Jhuria. I’m located on the second floor of Babu Bazar on H B Road. This is part of the Fancy Bazaar district in Guwahati. H B Road is a major route, so there’s always a lot of movement and noise. Babu Bazar is a well-known spot, so it’s not too hard for people to find me once they get to the right area. Being on the second floor is nice because it’s a little bit removed from the direct dust and noise of the street level, though you still feel the energy of the market. The stairs are a bit steep, so I get my exercise every morning coming in. The office is just a regular room with my equipment and some storage for my records. It’s not a large space, but it’s enough for what I do. I have a fan that hums in the corner and a light that flickers a bit when it first turns on. It’s just an ordinary workplace in an ordinary building. I spend my days here going through my papers and keeping everything in order. Fancy Bazaar is the kind of place where something is always happening, so there’s never a dull moment if you look out the window. I’ve been in this location for a good number of years now. It’s comfortable in its own way, mostly because it’s familiar. I don't feel the need for anything more complicated than what I have here on H B Road.
