About Pankh Glass – Building & Construction Material in Guwahati
Pankh Glass sits inside Hasina Palace, specifically at B-1 on F.A. Road in the Kumarpara area. It is one of those places where you always have to be careful where you step because there might be a small shard of glass hiding in the corner. We spend a lot of our time moving heavy sheets from the truck into the shop, which is a real workout especially when it’s humid outside. The building itself has been around for a bit, and we have made ourselves comfortable in our corner of it. Most of the time, the air is filled with the sound of the glass cutter scoring a line or the grinder smoothing down an edge so nobody gets cut. It’s a bit of a trick to keep everything organized when you have different thicknesses and types of glass leaning everywhere. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the material without breaking it. Kumarpara is a decent place to be based, and we see the same faces walking past Hasina Palace every morning. We don’t do anything flashy, just take the measurements people bring us and try to get the pieces finished before the sun goes down. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there and wait, but usually, we are busy enough that the day goes by fast and we head home tired.
