Laxmi Bhandar

If you walk down Station Road in the Kamrup district, you will find our place. It is a very busy street, especially when the trains are coming in or leaving. We get a lot of foot traffic from people walking to the station. Laxmi Bhandar has been a part of this community for many years now. We sell various goods and the shop is usually packed with items from floor to ceiling. It can get a bit cramped when there are several people inside at once, but that is just how it goes on Station Road. We spend our mornings checking the stock and seeing what needs to be ordered for the next week. The air is always full of the smells of the market and the sound of rickshaws going past the door. We don't have a website or any of those modern things. We just open the shutters every morning and wait for the regulars to come in. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when it's quiet and watch the world go by. Kamrup is a big district but our little corner feels very local. We know the families who live nearby and what they usually need when they stop by. It’s an honest way to spend the day, and we have been doing it long enough that it feels like second nature to us. There isn't much more to it than that.
