Dhulikona Foundation

We are based out of Beltola, over in the Garbhanga area of Guwahati. The foundation is actually located at Madhab Rajbanshi’s house, which is number ten in Gohaibari. If you know this part of the city, you know it can get quite busy and crowded. We decided to start Dhulikona Foundation to handle things on a very local level. It is a small setup. We don't have those fancy revolving glass doors or a receptionist in a suit. It is just a plain room where we gather to figure things out. Often, we are out in the streets more than we are sitting at our desks. The work we do changes every day. One morning we might be talking to local students and the next we are trying to fix a small issue with a neighborhood path. It is not always easy to explain every little thing we do, but we keep ourselves busy. We don't use a lot of big words or professional jargon to describe our work. We are just locals who care about what happens in our own backyard. We have lived in Kamrup for a long time and know the people here. Folks drop by without calling all the time, which is fine, though we might be out running errands when they arrive. It is a bit informal, but we make sure the work gets done eventually. We aren't trying to be a massive organization. We just want to see small improvements around us.
