Art Atelier

Art Atelier is a small studio we have at House No 25 on Navagraha Road in the Silphukhri area of Guwahati. We are located right opposite the War Cemetery, which is a very quiet and peaceful neighbor to have. Our space is where we do all our creative and architectural work. It’s not a huge place, but it has a lot of character. We have sketches pinned to the walls and models of buildings sitting on the shelves. Being in Silphukhri is nice because it’s a bit of an older, established part of Guwahati. Navagraha Road is easy to find, and the view of the cemetery greenery is quite pleasant from our windows. We spend our days designing houses and other structures for people around here. It’s a mix of drawing by hand and using the computer. We don't really follow a strict corporate schedule; we just work until the job is done. Sometimes we have clients come in and sit among the mess of papers to talk about their ideas. We like to keep things informal. It’s just about getting the design right and making sure it fits the land in Guwahati. We’ve been here for some time now and most of the locals know our office. It’s a simple life of designing and planning, and we are happy to be doing it in this part of town. Guwahati has its own way of doing things, and we try to work within that. The weather can be a bit damp sometimes, which isn't great for the paper drawings, so we have to be careful. We like the local tea and the way the light hits the office in the late afternoon.
