Ankit Bhandar

Ankit Bhandar is situated on the Main Road in the Super Market area of Dispur. Being in this part of Guwahati means there is always something happening outside the door. We are right in the middle of all the action, so it gets quite busy during the lunch hour. The shop is filled with various household goods, and I try my best to keep things in order, even though it gets messy when we get a big shipment in. I spend most of my time behind the counter, talking to the people who stop by. We have some regulars who have been coming here for years, and I know exactly what they want before they even ask. The store doesn't have air conditioning, so we just leave the front wide open to catch whatever breeze comes through. It’s a simple setup with basic lighting and a few fans. I don't really have a philosophy about business; I just want to make sure the shelves aren't empty when someone needs something. The traffic on the Main Road can be a headache, but it also brings in a lot of people who are just passing through. Every day is pretty much the same, which is fine by me. We just keep working and keeping the shop ready for whoever walks in next. It’s a decent life here in Dispur.
