If you ever find yourself on G S Road in Guwahati, you’ve probably passed by Sanmati Plaza. We are up on the second floor. Singhi Consulting Company Pvt. Ltd. isn’t some massive firm with a thousand employees. We are just a small group of people working out of a few rooms here in Assam. The traffic on G S Road is pretty legendary, so we usually hear a lot of honking while we are trying to work. Inside the office, it’s mostly quiet except for the sound of keyboards and the occasional phone ringing. We handle consulting stuff, which mostly involves a lot of reading, writing reports, and looking at numbers. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the curtains are a bit dusty, but it’s home for us during the day. We don't have a fancy coffee machine, just a kettle and some tea bags. Most of us have lived in Guwahati our whole lives, so we know the area well. We don't bother with fancy slogans or trying to sound more important than we are. We just take on the projects that come our way and try to finish them on time. Sometimes we stay late when a deadline is coming up, and we order some food from the place around the corner. It’s a simple life, and we like the routine of coming into Sanmati Plaza every morning to see what the day brings. It works for us.
