Our office is over at 842/17 in Gurugram, right in the heart of the 122001 area. The Yr Foundation For Innovative Policy Research sounds like a big title, but we are actually a pretty small group. We spend most of our time looking at papers and trying to figure out how local rules can be better for regular people. It’s not very glamorous work. We sit around a big wooden table most afternoons, drinking tea and arguing about the best way to handle things. The office is a bit cramped because of all the files we have stacked up against the walls. We aren't part of some big government agency or a giant think tank. We’re just local people who think about things a lot. Gurugram is changing so fast, and we try to keep up with how that affects everyone who lives here. You won't find any slick presentations or polished speeches coming from us. We prefer to just write down our thoughts and share them with whoever will listen. Some days we just walk around the neighborhood to see how things are actually working on the ground. It’s important to stay connected to the real world, not just the stuff in books. We don't have a fancy website or anything. We just focus on the research and hope it makes a bit of a difference for the town. It’s a lot of reading and a lot of talking, but it’s what we do.
