Our group, Vivasta Ek Sachai Social And Educational Research Foundation, is situated near the ASF Building over in Gawal Pahari. If you know the Gurugram area, you know it’s a bit of a trek out here depending on where you are coming from. Being in Haryana, especially in Gurgaon-122001, means we see a lot of changes happening all the time. Gawal Pahari used to be much quieter, but now there is more traffic and new buildings. Our office is a place where we sit down and look through a lot of data and research papers. It is not always exciting, but it’s what we do. We share the space with a few old computers and some very full bookshelves. The walk from the main road can be a bit dusty when the wind picks up. We usually have the kettle going for tea in the afternoons. It helps us get through the research work. Sometimes the internet acts up because of the location, but we find ways to keep going. We are not a corporate giant or anything like that. We are just a small foundation trying to look into social and educational issues from our corner of the building. It’s a practical setup. Nothing is overly polished here. We have some chairs that squeak a bit and the desks are getting old. But it works for us. We spend our mornings planning and our afternoons actually doing the research. It is a steady routine we have got going on near the ASF building.
