We are over at 999/9 in Gurugram. That is the address for Vagbhat Gau Seva Foundation. It’s a bit of a strange number, but it makes it easy for people to find us once they are in the right area. We are right in the middle of a very busy part of the city. The noise from the horns and the people outside never really stops. Our place is simple. We don't have any expensive art on the walls or designer lights. It is just a functional space where we can focus on the work we do for the cows. We have some wooden chairs and a couple of big tables where we keep all our notes and papers. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when a few visitors show up at once. We don't really have a waiting room, so people just pull up a stool wherever there is space. The floor is made of plain cement and we keep it swept, but with the dust in Gurugram, it’s a constant battle. We drink water from a big clay pot because it stays cool that way. None of us are here to get rich or famous. We just care about what we are doing and we like being in this part of town. It’s a real, grit-and-dirt kind of place. We’ve been here for a while and the people around here know us by now. We just take each day as it comes and try to stay organized.
