Up on the 9th floor of Tower-C in the Unitech Business Zone, things feel a bit removed from the ground. We are in Sector-50 of Gurugram, which is full of these tall glass towers. Nirvana Country is right nearby, so it’s a modern part of the city. Our office, rooms 903 and 904, is mostly open-plan. You can see the horizon if the smog isn't too thick that day. It’s a very quiet office, everyone is usually focused on their screens. We have these long hallways and a lot of glass doors that always seem to have fingerprints on them. The air conditioning is always humming in the background because the Haryana sun is no joke. We get our coffee from the machine in the breakroom and eat lunch at our desks more often than we should. It’s a long commute for most of us at Resurgent India Ltd., navigating the highways and the traffic jams that Gurugram is famous for. Once we get here, it’s just about getting through the mountain of emails and reports that never seem to end. We don't really have a lot of decorations, just the necessary furniture and some company folders. It’s a functional place designed for people to sit and work for eight or nine hours a day. We see the lights of the other towers come on as the sun goes down, and that’s usually when we start packing up our bags to head home.
