Sarthak Commercial Centre

Being at Shop No 18 in Nehru Market means you see a lot of things. This market is one of those places that never really stops moving. We’ve been at this commercial centre for a good while now. It isn't a huge place, just enough room for the desk and the stock we keep. Most of our day is spent talking to people who come in looking for specific items they can't find elsewhere in the market. We handle a lot of different things, mostly stuff that other businesses around here need. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the inventory is right. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that’s the highlight of the afternoon. We don’t have a big staff or anything like that. It's mostly just us. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, honestly, but we never seem to find the time to stop. People know us by name around here. It’s nice when a regular walks in just to say hello while they’re doing their other errands. We try to keep things organized but in a small shop like this, stuff tends to pile up. The street outside is narrow so getting deliveries in can be a bit of a nightmare. We’ve learned to work around the crowds. It’s just how it is in Nehru Market. We stay open late most days because that’s when the foot traffic is highest. It’s a steady rhythm.
