Sai Auto Industries

Down in IMT Manesar Sector 7 at plot number 55, things are always moving. Sai Auto Industries is basically a big workshop filled with the sound of metal hitting metal. It’s an industrial area, so there’s always dust in the air and the sound of heavy trucks backing up. We aren't a big corporate office; we’re just a bunch of people who know how to work with machines. The floor is usually stained with oil and there are metal shavings everywhere, no matter how much we sweep. We have some heavy equipment that’s been with us for years, and it’s loud, so we have to shout sometimes just to be heard. We don't have a reception area with a bowl of mints. You just come through the main gate and find us in the back. Lunch is usually eaten quick on some plastic chairs near the side door where there’s a bit of a breeze. It gets really hot in the summer under the tin roof, but we just keep the fans going and drink a lot of water. Most of our day is spent checking parts and making sure the machines don't act up. It’s hard work and your hands are always dirty by the end of the shift. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a fancy building. We just want to get the orders finished and the trucks loaded so we can go home at night.
