You can find the site for Rico Auto Industries Limited right at the 38 Km Stone on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway. It is a very long stretch of open road. You see a constant stream of long-haul trucks passing by at all hours of the day and night. The low roar from the highway traffic is something you just eventually get used to after working here for a week. Our site is quite large because we have to accommodate a lot of manufacturing equipment. There is a lot of grey stone and corrugated metal everywhere you look. The wind tends to pick up a lot of dry dust from the side of the road and blows it against the windows. We have a small security hut at the main gate where the guys check in every morning. Inside the office rooms, it is a little bit quieter, but you can still feel the faint vibration of the bigger machines through the floor. It is a long commute for those of us coming all the way from the city. We usually bring our own lunches in steel boxes and eat together in the small break area. The clock on the wall is about five minutes fast, but nobody ever bothers to fix it. We just follow the shifts as they come. It is a lot of repetitive routine. We check parts and make sure the line is moving. We have been out here on the highway for a long time now.
