Prabhat Welfare Foundation

Our foundation is set up in Sohna, specifically in Durga Colony right along the Palwal Road. This part of Gurgaon is quite different from the main city area. It’s a bit more relaxed, though the road outside can get pretty noisy with all the trucks passing by. We’ve been operating from here for a while now. The building is easy to find if you’re heading down towards Palwal. We focus on general welfare, which means we help out with whatever the community needs at the time. Whether it's helping someone with paperwork or organizing a small local event, we just try to be useful. The office itself is pretty plain. We have some old chairs and a big table where we sit and discuss things. There’s no corporate hierarchy here; we all just pitch in. Most of the folks who come to us are from the nearby colonies. We know most of them by name. It’s a very local operation. We don’t have a big budget, so we make do with what we have. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside and keep talking. It’s an honest way to work. We like being in Durga Colony because people feel comfortable walking in and asking for help. We aren't a big fancy NGO, just a group of neighbors trying to make things a little better for everyone around here.
