Peoples Clinic

Palam Gurgaon Road is always a bit of a mess with the traffic and the construction dust that never seems to settle. Out here in Dundahera, the clinic sits right where everyone passes by on their way to work or home. It is a simple setup with a few rooms and a waiting area that gets quite crowded during the morning hours. We have these old metal chairs that make a bit of a scraping sound on the floor. The fan in the corner wobbles slightly when it is on the highest setting. Most of the people who come in are from the nearby residential blocks or the small shops around the corner. We spend a lot of time looking for files because the filing system is just a bunch of cabinets that have seen better days. The water cooler sometimes leaks a little bit on the tile. It is not a place you would call fancy, but it gets the job done for the neighborhood. We see a lot of coughs and fevers, especially when the weather changes. The staff usually brings their lunch from home and we eat in the small back room while listening to the trucks outside. There is a small tea stall just a few steps away where we get our morning round of chai. It is just a regular part of life here in this part of Gurgaon, nothing more and nothing less.
