Nayi Duniya Naya Savera Foundation

Our office is located on the third floor of the Sharma Association building on Manohara Marg. It’s in Sector 52, which is part of the Wazirabad area in Gurugram. Being on the third floor means we get a decent view of the street, though the elevator is a bit finicky sometimes, so many of us just end up taking the stairs. We started this foundation because we wanted to see some real changes in our local community. Gurugram moves so fast that a lot of people get left behind, and we try to catch them. We spend a lot of time working with people on basic literacy and helping them find jobs. It’s a lot of paperwork and a lot of talking. Our space is filled with old desks and stacks of books that people have donated over the months. It’s not a very organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big board of directors or anything like that. It’s just a few of us who decided that we’d rather spend our time doing this than working in one of the big corporate towers nearby. It gets noisy with all the traffic on Manohara Marg, but you get used to it after a while. We’re just here doing our part to help out the neighbors in Wazirabad whenever they need us. We keep the kettle on for anyone who stops by to chat or ask for advice.
