We are right by Azad Chowk, situated on the Circular Road. It is a noisy spot with all the traffic passing through, but it makes it easy for folks to find us. We handle a lot of motor-related work here at National Motors. Most of the day is spent with our heads under hoods or dealing with parts and engines. The floor gets a bit greasy, which is expected in this line of work. We have a few benches set up and the shelves are mostly filled with greasy boxes and old components. The sunlight comes in through the front door but usually, we have the overhead lights on because the shop is quite deep. People from the neighborhood stop by often, sometimes just to ask for directions or to talk about their cars. The tea stall across the road is where we get our morning start. It’s a straightforward shop with no bells or whistles. We just focus on the machines and getting the vehicles back on the road. Sometimes the spare parts take a while to arrive if the traffic on Circular Road is particularly bad, but we manage. The desk in the corner is piled with old invoices and logbooks that we try to keep organized. It is a humble place, but it’s ours and we have been in this chowk for a long time now. We don't have a lot of space for waiting, so most people just leave their keys and come back later.
