At Manshi Battery, we have a small place in Sohna where we keep ourselves busy. Most people in the neighborhood know us because we’ve been around for a while. We mainly deal with batteries for cars, bikes, and those home inverters that everyone needs when the power cuts out. The shop is usually full of old casings and new stock piled up. It is not the cleanest place in the world, but we know where everything is. Working in Sohna means you see a lot of people passing through. We spend our mornings checking voltages and cleaning terminals. It is repetitive work, but it matters when someone is stuck and can't get their engine to turn over. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It is just us and our tools. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook during the rainy season when batteries tend to fail more often. We just take it as it comes. We try to be fair with people because we live here too. If a battery still has some life in it, we tell them. There is no point in selling something someone doesn't need yet. Our floor is concrete and stained with lead and acid over the years, which is just part of the business. We keep the tea kettle going and handle the customers one by one. That is the way we’ve always done things here.
