Mamta Hospital

Located at 877/2 on Sheetla Mata Road, Mamta Hospital is right across from the Home Guard Office and near the roadways workshop. It’s a loud, dusty part of Gurgaon, especially with all the trucks and buses moving around. The hospital itself is a busy place. We’ve got the ground floor and the floors above filled with different wards. It’s not a quiet, sterile environment; there’s always someone moving a gurney or a family talking in the hallway. The lobby floor is made of that old-fashioned speckled stone that stays cool even when the Gurgaon heat is hitting forty degrees outside. We have a lot of people coming in from the nearby industrial areas, so we see all kinds of injuries and illnesses. Our nurses are usually the ones running the show, making sure everyone is where they should be. The reception desk is a bit cramped, and we’re always running out of staples or printer paper. There’s a tea stall just outside the gate where we all go when we finally get a break. The building has some cracks here and there, and the paint is peeling near the ceiling, but it works for what we need. It’s a practical, hardworking hospital for a hardworking part of town. We just do our best to keep things running even when the power cuts out and the generator takes a minute to kick in.
