Mak Education Foundation

Mak Education Foundation operates out of Karam Hi Dharam Apartments. We are in B-203, which is part of GH-84 in Sector 55, Gurugram. It’s a residential area, so it’s pretty quiet most of the time. We like it that way because it helps us focus on the education side of things. We aren't a big school or a huge institution. It’s more of a small group effort. We have a few computers and a lot of books lying around. Most of us have been in Gurgaon for years and seen how much it has changed. We wanted to contribute something back to the community. Living in Haryana, you see a lot of kids who just need a little extra help or guidance. That’s where we come in, or at least we try to. We aren't perfect and sometimes the paperwork gets the better of us. But we show up every day and do the work. The apartment is a comfortable place to work from. It doesn't feel like a cold corporate office. We have tea together and discuss what needs to be done next. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things. We don't use big words or fancy titles. We are just people trying to make education a bit more accessible for whoever comes our way. It's a modest life but we enjoy the work we do here. There is always a lot to learn ourselves while we try to teach others.
