Ik Nikhaar Foundation

If you’re driving down Dharam Kanta Road in Mujeser, you might see our sign. Ik Nikhaar Foundation is on the 1st floor at number 43. It’s a busy road with a lot of trucks and activity, especially since the Dharam Kanta is right there. It can be quite loud with all the traffic, but we’ve gotten used to the sound of engines and people shouting. Our office is just up the stairs. It’s a simple setup with a few chairs and a big table where we do most of our planning. We aren’t a huge organization, just a few of us trying to make things work in Mujeser. The floor is a bit creaky and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s our space. We spend a lot of time talking to the locals who stop by or just dealing with the daily tasks of running a foundation. It’s not always easy, and some days are definitely more frustrating than others when things don't go as planned. We just take it one step at a time. Being on the first floor is nice because we can look out at the road and see what’s going on. Dharam Kanta Road always has something happening. We try to stay grounded and just do the work without making a big fuss about it. We’ve been here for a bit and plan to stay as long as we can because this is where the work is.
