Her Adhikaar Foundation

Her Adhikaar Foundation is located at 133, Country Homes, which sits on West Canal Road near South City. It is a nice enough area with plenty of trees and the canal just a short walk away. We use the ground floor of the house for all our foundation activities. It feels much more like a home than a traditional office, which we think is a good thing. People seem a lot more comfortable when they come in here to talk to us. We have several rooms set up for different tasks. Some days the place is very quiet, and other days it is a bit chaotic with everyone talking over each other. We do not have a receptionist sitting at a desk. Whoever happens to be near the front door just goes and opens it. We spend a significant amount of our time out in the local community, so the office can be empty for half the day. When we are actually here, we are usually trying to catch up on emails or planning for our next trip out into the field. The drive along West Canal Road can be quite a struggle during the morning rush hour, but we are used to the traffic now. We just do our bit and try to be useful to the people around us. There is always more work to be done than there are hours in a single day. We do not make a big fuss about it.
