Hare Krishna Kala Kendra

Our place is located at J3/46 in DLF Qutab Enclave Phase II. We call it Hare Krishna Kala Kendra, and it’s basically a hub for art and culture right in the middle of Gurgaon. It isn't a massive institution, just a local spot where people come to learn and practice. You can usually hear music or the sound of someone practicing dance steps if you walk past at the right time. We’ve been in Phase II for a bit now, and we’ve seen the whole area grow up around us. The Kendra is a bit of a mess sometimes, with art supplies scattered around and instruments waiting to be tuned, but that’s how a creative space should be. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just open the doors and let people come in to explore their artistic side. Whether it’s painting, music, or some other form of expression, we just provide the space for it. It gets quite lively in the evenings when the kids come in after school. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and we don't worry too much about being perfectly organized. It’s more about the feeling of the place and the community that has built up around J3/46. People in the enclave know us as the local art center, and that’s plenty for us. We just keep doing what we’re doing, year after year, in our own little corner of the city.
