Globally Integrated Foundation For Thalassaemia

We operate out of D-1229 in Sanik Colony, Sector 49. It’s just a regular house that we’ve turned into our main spot for helping folks dealing with Thalassaemia. If you come by, you’ll probably see a lot of files and maybe some people waiting in the small area we set up. It’s not a hospital, but we try to help with the logistics that come with the condition. Dealing with health issues is stressful, and we saw that people needed a place to go where things weren't so clinical and scary. We aren't a massive organization with branches everywhere. We are just here in the colony. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and we can't get to it fast enough. Other times, it's quiet and we use that time to catch up on the paperwork. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. Mostly, it’s just us talking to families and trying to figure out how they can get their next treatment or where they can find donors. It’s heavy work sometimes, and it can get to you. But we’ve known many of these families for years now. We know their kids' names and how they’re doing in school. It’s more of a community than an office. We don't use big words or try to sound like we know everything. We just do what we can to make the day a little easier for them.
