You’ll find Classic Dials out at Plot No. 367 in Phase-II of Udyog Vihar. It’s an industrial area, so there are factories and warehouses all around us. Our place is basically a big shed with some office rooms attached to the front. We make watch dials here. It’s very precise work, so the main floor is kept as clean as we can manage, though some grease and metal bits always end up on the floor. The machines make a constant humming sound that you get used to after a few days. We have a small team of workers who are very good with their hands. Most of us wear uniforms that are a bit stained from the ink and metals we use. The commute to Udyog Vihar can be a pain because of the traffic on the highway, so we all try to get here early. Our office part is pretty basic—just some metal desks and chairs that have been around since we opened. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anyone to greet you at the door. Usually, someone just shouts from the back if they hear the bell. We just focus on making sure the dials are printed right and that the colors don't smudge. It’s not glamorous, but it’s what we know how to do. We take our tea breaks outside when the weather is nice enough to sit out.
