Arpita An Institute Of Kathak is right here in Sector 4 Urban Estate 1345. It's a place where we do Kathak every day. People come in, take off their shoes, and we start the practice. You can hear the sound of the bells from the street if the windows are open. It’s not a huge place, but there’s enough room for everyone to move around and learn the steps. We spend a lot of time on the basics and rhythm. Sometimes it’s quiet when we are talking, and sometimes it’s very loud with the music and the footwork. The floor has seen a lot of practice over the years we've been here. We’re in a regular part of the estate, so it's easy for people around here to find us. It’s just how things go every day in our studio. We don’t have fancy stuff, just the space and the dance. Sometimes we have tea during the short breaks when the students are resting. It gets a bit dusty because of the road outside, but we try to clean up every morning. Most of the kids come after school, and then the older ones show up later in the evening. We keep the mirrors clean and make sure the mats are in the right spot. It’s a simple routine. We’ve been at this address for a while now. Neighbors know us by the sound of the ghungroos. If you walk past 1345 in Sector 4, you’ll likely see some students waiting outside. That's pretty much what happens here daily.
