Al-Rashid-Bin-Qumar Hospital

Al-Rashid-Bin-Qumar Hospital is located out in Shikhawa, right near the village post office. It is a quiet place compared to the big city hospitals you see in the news. Since we are in a village, things move a bit slower here. People usually walk in from their farms or bring their kids after school. The building is simple and doesn't have any of those automatic doors or bright screens. We mostly deal with the kind of health problems you expect in a rural area, like seasonal fevers or small injuries from work. It can be hard sometimes when the power goes out, but we have a small backup to keep the lights on. The post office is just a stone's throw away, so everyone knows where we are. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture, just the basic beds and some wooden chairs for people to sit on while they wait their turn. The air out here is better than the city, though it gets very dusty during the dry months. We’ve been here for the local people for a long time, and honestly, we know almost everyone who walks through the door by their first name. It is just a basic hospital for the community. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s a practical place for Shikhawa residents to come when they aren't feeling well and need someone to take a look.
