Royal King Textile

You can find Royal King Textile in Gurjala, right near the old post office. That post office is a landmark everyone knows, so we don’t have to give much direction. The building is a bit older, and the shelves are heavy with rolls of cloth. We have different kinds of fabric piled up, some cotton, some synthetic, in every color you can think of. It’s a family business, so it’s just a few of us running the show every day. My uncle started this place a long time ago, and we just kept the tradition going. People from all over the village come in when they need a new outfit for a festival or just some sturdy material for work clothes. We don't have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that makes a steady humming noise all afternoon. You can hear the goats and the motorbikes outside on the street. We still use paper ledgers to keep track of what we sell because that’s how we’ve always done it. Sometimes when it’s quiet, we sit by the door and watch the world go by. The cloth gets a bit dusty, so we are always wiping things down with a dry rag. We don't try to be like the big malls in the city. We just want to offer decent fabric to the people who live around here. It’s a honest way to make a living and stay connected to the community.
