At Roop Polymers Pvt Ltd, we operate out of Plot No. 30 Sector 3 of IMT Maneshar. Manesar is always crowded with trucks, and our sector is no different. You can hear the constant hum of the nearby factories all day long. Our place is pretty large, but it feels cramped because of all the raw materials stacked up in the corners. We do a lot of work with rubber and plastic parts here. The smell of heated polymers is something you just get used to after the first week. We have a lot of different machines going at once, which makes the floor vibrate slightly. The supervisors spend most of their time walking around with clipboards, checking on the batches. It’s a lot of repetitive work, watching the molds and making sure nothing gets stuck. We have a small area where we keep our bags and eat our tiffin. The water cooler is always the most popular spot in the building. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generators to kick in, which gives us a five-minute break to stand outside and catch some air. It’s a straightforward operation. We aren't trying to be anything fancy, just a group of people making parts in a busy industrial hub. Every day is pretty much the same routine, from the morning check-in to the final cleanup before we head home.
