If you’re driving down N. H. No. 8, you’ll find us near the 38th Mile Stone. We are right on Behrampur Road in Village Khandsa. It’s a bit out of the main city, so there’s plenty of space, but it also means we get a lot of dust from the highway. We deal with leather here. It’s a tough business. The smell of the hides is something you never really get used to, but it’s part of the job. Worldwide Leather Exports Ltd. might sound like a big operation, and we do send stuff far away, but the day-to-day is very hands-on. We spend hours checking the skins for marks or uneven spots. The warehouse is big and can get really hot in the summer months. We have a few big fans, but they mostly just move the warm air around. Most of our guys have been with us for years. They know the leather better than anyone. We don't spend much time on fancy marketing. We’re usually too busy making sure the containers are loaded correctly and the paperwork is in order. The road outside is always busy with big trucks, and sometimes it takes forever just to turn out of the gate. It’s a gritty, hard-working environment. We just focus on the leather and getting it where it needs to go on time. The tea stall down the road is our usual afternoon break spot.
