Wai Yu Mun Ching

Our place is at 33 Transport Centre, right near the Subzi Mandi in Azadpur. It’s a very busy area, especially in the early hours of the morning when the vegetables start arriving. Wai Yu Mun Ching has been operating from this spot for a while now. It’s not a quiet neighborhood by any means. There are always trucks moving and people shouting, so you get used to the noise pretty fast. The shop is simple and practical, built for the kind of environment we are in. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the pace of the market. Sometimes the dust from the transport center gets into everything, so we are constantly wiping down the counters. It’s just part of the job. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who know the routine. We see a lot of drivers and market workers who need a quick bite before they head back out. The location at 33 Transport Centre is easy to find if you’re familiar with the Subzi Mandi. We don’t have any fancy menus or glossy brochures. We just write what we have on a board and get to work. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s an honest business. We just try to keep our customers satisfied so they come back the next time they’re in Azadpur. It’s a long day from start to finish, but we are used to it.
