U.P. Housing& Development Board On Deputation To Rites Ltd.

Working out of 80-Gf in Sukhdev Vihar is a bit different from our main offices. Since we are on deputation to Rites Ltd., the pace is fast. We deal with housing and development projects. Mathura Road is always crowded, so getting to the office takes a while in the morning. I usually grab a tea from the stall nearby before starting my shift. We handle a lot of technical files and site plans. Being part of the U.P. Housing Board but working here in New Delhi-25 means we see both sides of the planning process. It is a lot of coordination. The desks are full of blueprints and government memos. We aren't trying to sell you anything, we just manage the projects that come through our department. Some days are just meetings that last too long. Other days we are out looking at sites or checking on construction progress. It’s hard work and the paperwork never seems to end. The office isn't anything special to look at, just a functional space where we sit and get through the stack of files. We've been at this location for a bit now. Most of us have been in the department for a long time, so we know the rules inside out. It is steady work. We focus on the engineering side and making sure the housing plans actually work on the ground. It’s a job that requires patience and a lot of pens to sign all the documents that pile up on the desk.
