We are located at 682 Udyog Vihar, which is a big industrial zone as many people know. Priyanka Apparels (india) has been operating out of this unit for quite a few years now. The building is large and can get a bit hot in the summer months, but we have enough fans to keep the air moving. It’s a lot of work managing all the different sections of the floor. You’ve got people cutting, others sewing, and then the packing area at the back. It’s constant movement from nine to six. We don’t really have time for many breaks except for lunch when everyone sits out front for a bit of fresh air. Udyog Vihar is always crawling with trucks and delivery vans, so logistics can be a bit of a headache. But being in 682 gives us enough space to store everything we need. We don’t use any of those big corporate words to describe what we do. We just make clothes. It’s straightforward. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend half the morning fixing it ourselves. That’s just part of the job. The staff is like a big family, mostly because we’ve all been through the busy seasons together so many times. We don’t try to pretend we are something we’re not. We’re just a garment factory trying to keep up with the orders and making sure everyone gets paid on time.
