Down here in Udyog Vihar Phase 5, at number 852, things stay pretty busy from morning till late. We are Jahanvi Apparels India Pvt. Ltd., and this factory is where everything happens. You’ll hear the sewing machines running the moment you walk near the gate. It’s a loud place, full of the hum of motors and people talking over the noise. We have rows of tables where the cutting happens, and there’s always bits of thread and fabric scraps on the floor. It’s an industrial area, so there’s constant movement of trucks and workers on the street outside. Inside, we are focused on getting the garments stitched up and packed. We don't have fancy decorations in the office; we mostly have samples hanging on the walls and piles of patterns sitting on the chairs. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator, which is just part of working in this area. Our team is a mix of people who have been sewing for years and some newer faces. We mostly just keep our heads down and work through the orders. Lunch breaks are usually spent sitting outside or near the machines if it’s too hot. It is a straightforward operation where we make clothes, pack them into cartons, and send them off. There’s no big secret to it, just keeping the needles moving and making sure the seams are straight.
