We have been operating out of Haryana for quite a long time now. It is a big place and the roads here are always full of trucks moving back and forth across the state. Dealing with transport in this area means you have to be ready for anything, especially with the way the weather changes from being very dusty to pouring rain. Our day usually starts pretty early because that is when the drivers like to get on the road before it gets too hot. We spend a lot of time on the phone checking where everyone is and making sure the loads are secured properly. It is not the kind of work where you sit still for very long. Even though we are part of a much larger company, the local work here feels very grounded. We know the routes through the villages and the main highways like the back of our hand. Sometimes the logistics get a bit complicated when a truck breaks down or a road is closed for construction, but we just figure it out as we go. There is always a lot of tea being drank in the office while we wait for updates. The walls are covered in maps and old calendars that have been there for years. It is a practical kind of life here in Haryana, just keeping things moving from one point to another without making too much of a fuss about it. We just focus on the task at hand.
