The Attire is situated at Plot No. 643 in Udyog Vihar Phase-5. If you’ve ever driven through Phase-5, you know it’s a maze of different plots and factories. We are tucked in there among many other similar buildings. The area is always busy with people heading to work or delivery vans trying to find their way around the narrow turns. Our building is a simple concrete structure. Inside, you’ll hear the sound of sewing machines and people talking over the noise. We have rolls of fabric leaning against the walls and scissors sitting on every table. It’s a workshop, plain and simple. We don’t have a showroom with mannequins or bright lights. Most of our space is taken up by the cutting tables and the ironing stations. The staff here has been together for a while, so we all know each other’s habits. We take our breaks together and usually talk about local news or what’s for lunch. It gets pretty hot in the summer, but we have the big fans going to keep the air moving. Working in Udyog Vihar means we are surrounded by industry, and that suits us just fine. We focus on our piles of garments and making sure the stitching is straight. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but there is a satisfaction in seeing a finished pile of clothes at the end of the day. We just try to get everything shipped out before the evening traffic gets really bad around the plot.
