We work out of Ews413 in Silveroak Apartments, which is in DLF City, Phase-I. It’s a bit different working from an apartment complex rather than a high-rise office building, but it works for us. Gurgaon can be a very shiny, fast-paced place, but our office feels more like a home. We deal with education solutions, which mostly means we help students and schools figure things out. There’s always a stack of brochures or applications on the table. We spend a lot of time on the computer responding to emails. It’s quiet enough here that we can actually focus. Sometimes the neighbors walk by and say hello. We don’t have a big sign outside or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth. We don’t have a corporate dress code; we just wear what’s comfortable for a long day of work. The kitchen is right there, so we make our own tea and coffee. It saves money and tastes better anyway. We’ve been doing this for a bit now and we’ve seen how much the education world changes every year. We try to keep up with it without getting too stressed. Living and working in DLF City means we see a lot of the corporate world, but our little office stays pretty grounded. We have some plants on the balcony that we try to keep alive, though we forget to water them sometimes. It’s a relaxed atmosphere, which I think helps the students feel more at ease.
