Strabags Engenieers is located near the bus stand in Gurgaon, Haryana. It’s a spot that’s easy to find because everyone knows the bus area. Gurgaon has changed so much, from being a small town to this massive city with huge buildings, but our area still feels a bit more traditional. The office is a simple place. We don’t have air conditioning that works all the time, so we often have the windows open, which lets in the sounds of the street and the buses. It can be a bit noisy, but we’re used to it by now. We are a small team of engineers and staff who have been working together for quite some time. We know our trade and we don’t feel the need to use big words to describe it. We just look at the plans, talk about what needs to be fixed or built, and then we go out and do it. There isn't much formality here. We wear work clothes and we aren't afraid to get our hands a bit dirty if the job calls for it. The tea man comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a quick break to talk about things other than work. It’s a plain, honest workspace for people who value doing a good day’s labor. We’ve been in Gurgaon for years and we plan to stay right here near the bus station, doing things the way they’ve always been done.
