We are based at 7 Nutan Chemical Compound on Walbhat Road in Goregaon East. If you know Mumbai you know that Walbhat Road is always packed with traffic and there is a lot of grime from all the industrial activity nearby. The compound itself is an older one and we share the space with a lot of other small businesses that make different things. Our workshop is filled with panels and wires and all sorts of automation hardware. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the boxes stacked up. We spend our time designing how machines should talk to each other and making sure the logic works. The air in the compound smells a bit like chemicals and old metal but we got used to it a long time ago. We have a small office area tucked away in the back where we do our drawings and drink our coffee. It’s a noisy place with the sound of trucks reversing and people shouting to be heard over the machinery. We don't have any fancy signs out front so you really have to look for the number 7 to find us. It’s a gritty place to work but it’s where all the real stuff gets made. We like being in Goregaon because everything you need is just a short walk or a rickshaw ride away even if the roads are a mess.
