Udyog Vihar Phase-1 is a really busy place to be during the workday. Smriti Apparels is at number 124, right in the middle of all the action. You’ll see plenty of trucks and people moving fabric around every time you step outside. Inside our unit, it’s mostly the sound of sewing machines and people talking over the noise. We deal with garments and apparel, so there are always piles of clothes or cut fabric sitting around on the tables. It’s not a showroom; it’s a working floor where the actual making happens. Sometimes we’re rushing to finish an order before the weekend, and other times it’s a bit more relaxed. The power goes out once in a while, which is just part of being in an industrial area, so we just wait it out or use the generator. Our team is pretty small, and we mostly just focus on the task right in front of us. We aren't doing anything fancy with the office decor—it’s just desks, chairs, and machines. Lunchtime usually involves everyone sitting together and sharing whatever they brought from home. It gets hot in the summer, but we have enough fans to keep things moving. We’ve been in this spot for a good while and know the neighbors pretty well. It’s a lot of work, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We just do our own thing here.
