Shri Balaji Motors

Our place is at Plot No.378/80, right on the NH8 in Shanti Nagar. Being on a major highway like NH8 means we see all sorts of vehicles and people from different places. It’s a dusty spot because of the constant flow of traffic, but it’s a good location for a motor shop. We’ve been here at Plot 378/80 for quite some time now. The building is simple, just four walls and a roof to keep the rain off the engines we are working on. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations. Most of the walls are covered with old calendars or lists of parts we need to order. It’s a bit of a rough-and-ready setup, but it works for us. We spend our days under the hoods of cars or tinkering with motorcycle engines. Shanti Nagar is a decent area, though it can get a bit congested during peak hours on the highway. We don’t do much in terms of advertising; most people just see us as they are driving by or hear about us from someone else on the road. We are just a small team of workers who know our way around a motor. There isn’t much more to it than that. We open up early to catch the morning crowd and stay until the work is done. Shri Balaji Motors is just a regular part of the roadside here and we just keep at it day after day. It’s a living.
