Our office for Shapoorji Pallonji & Co Ltd is located at 371, Saraswati Vihar in Gurgaon. It’s a residential-feeling area but we keep quite busy with all the construction work happening around this region. Gurgaon has changed a lot over the years and we’ve been here through most of it, watching the skyline grow. Our team here is mostly engineers and guys who handle the back-end of the big building projects. It’s not the kind of place where we wear suits every day; it’s more about being ready to head out to a dusty site if we need to. We have a lot of paperwork to get through because construction involves a million little details that most people never see. We don’t really do much in the way of marketing. Usually, people know who we are because of the work we’ve already finished. Inside the office, it’s mostly just the sound of keyboards and people discussing timelines. We try to keep things simple. If there’s a problem on a site, we talk it through and find a way to fix it. It’s about being practical and getting the structures built. We’ve got a good group of people here who have seen it all before. We don’t need to use big words to explain what we do. Sometimes the power goes out or the internet is slow, but we just keep working. We have a lot of respect for the tradespeople we work with. We just want to make sure the work is solid.
