Chic Clothing

Out in Udyog Vihar Sector 37, Chic Clothing is based at 712 J Pes 3. It’s a typical industrial building with big windows and concrete floors. We have a lot of space here compared to the shops in the city. Most of the room is taken up by long cutting tables and rows of sewing machines. It gets pretty loud when everything is running at once. We start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. The commute here can be a pain because of the Gurgaon traffic, but we are used to it by now. We don't have any fancy carpets or soft chairs. It’s a factory environment through and through. We focus on getting the patterns right and making sure the stitching is strong. There’s a lot of coffee and tea consumed here to keep everyone going. Sometimes the managers are on the floor helping out when we are behind on a deadline. We don't have a big corporate structure. Everyone just does what needs to be done. We keep our supplies organized in big metal bins. It’s a practical way to run things. We’ve been in this sector for a while and we know the other business owners nearby. It’s a hardworking place with no frills. When the machines turn off at the end of the day, the silence is always a bit surprising.
