You can find Ram Hans Embroidery Pvt. Ltd. on Plot No. 97, right on Main School Road in Sirhoul. It’s a busy little corner of Sector-18. We do a lot of thread work here. You can hear the machines humming from the street most mornings. It’s a village area that’s grown a lot over the years. We started small and just stayed in the same spot. The school nearby means there are always people walking past, students and parents and teachers. We focus on the stitching and making sure the patterns look okay. It’s tedious work, looking at tiny needles all day, but we've got a good rhythm. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we’re all locals. We don’t have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just take the orders as they come and try to keep the machines running smooth. Sometimes a needle breaks or the power goes out, and we just deal with it. It’s a practical kind of business. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit from our window on Main School Road. The traffic has gotten worse, but the work stays the same. We take our lunch breaks in the small park nearby when the weather is nice. It’s a decent place to work and we’ve made a lot of friends over the years here. The machines need oiling quite often to keep them from jamming up during a big job.
