Sanjiv Tandon Architects

Our office is tucked away in DLF Phase III, specifically at S-10/10. If you know the area, you know it can be a bit of a maze sometimes with all the different lanes. Sanjiv Tandon Architects has been operating from here for a good stretch of time. It’s a functional space, nothing too flashy or over the top. We have a couple of drafting tables that have seen better days and a computer that hums a bit too loudly when it’s rendering something big. Usually, the morning starts with a lot of phone calls and checking on builders at various sites. We don’t have a receptionist in a suit or anything like that. You just walk in and someone will probably look up from a blueprint to say hello. Working in Phase III means we see a lot of the same faces around the neighborhood. We handle the drawings and the planning, trying to stay organized even when things get chaotic. It’s a lot of back and forth with contractors and making sure the papers are actually in order for the authorities. Sometimes we take a break at the local stalls nearby for some tea. It’s a simple routine. We’re just local architects doing the work that needs doing. No big speeches about vision. We just focus on the structural stuff and making sure the rooms end up the right size for people to live in. It’s a job we enjoy, even when the deadlines get a bit tight.
