Rays Apparels

We are based in Udyog Vihar Phase IV, at plot number 294. This whole area is nothing but factories and big warehouses. It’s not the kind of place you come for a casual stroll. We have our garment unit here under the name Rays Apparels. The building is a standard concrete structure. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of sewing machines. We have rows of them set up and the workers are busy from morning till evening. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so we have these big industrial fans that move the air around, but they are pretty loud. My office is just a small partitioned space near the front door. It’s mostly full of fabric samples and thread cones. We deal with a lot of bulk orders, so there are always stacks of finished clothes wrapped in plastic and ready to be loaded onto trucks. The street outside is usually blocked by tempos and lorries. You have to time your arrivals right if you're driving. We’ve been in this phase for a few years now. We know the tea seller who comes around twice a day with his kettle. That’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. We don't have a fancy reception or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll likely find us checking the stitching or counting bundles. It’s hard work and it’s dusty, but it’s what we do. We just keep our heads down and finish the orders without too much fuss or extra talk.
