Gurgaon is a busy place, and we are right in the middle of it in Sector 31. Our office is on the second floor of building 597. It is not one of those fancy glass towers you see in the newer parts of the city. It is just a regular building where we get things done. The stairs are a little steep, and the hallway can be dark if the bulb is out, but it works for us. Inside, we have a few desks and a lot of maps and blueprints pinned to the walls. There is always a lot of noise coming from the street below, mostly horns and people shouting. We deal with infrastructure projects, so there is a lot of paperwork and phone calls to manage every single day. Most of our guys are out at the sites, so the office is usually quiet until the afternoon. That is when everyone comes back with mud on their boots and updates on how the work is going. We sit around, drink some tea, and figure out the plan for the next day. It is a simple setup. We do not have a big reception area or anyone to open the door for you. If you come by, you just walk in and find a chair. It is a practical way to run things. We focus on the projects and making sure things move along without too many delays.
