Maison Couture

Maison Couture is located at No. 377 in Sector-37, which is part of Pace City-2. This is a large industrial zone, so our neighbors are mostly other factories and warehouses. Our unit is where the actual making happens. We have several rows of sewing machines and large tables where the fabric is laid out for cutting. It’s a very hands-on environment. The floors are made of grey concrete and there are always spools of thread and scraps of cloth scattered around the workstations. We don’t have a storefront because we don't sell directly to people walking by. Instead, we work on specific garment orders and samples. The light in the workshop is quite bright, which is necessary for the kind of detailed stitching our tailors do. Most of the people working here have been in the trade for years and they know their way around a sewing machine better than anyone. We have a small corner with a desk and a computer for the admin stuff, but most of the action happens on the floor. It can get pretty hot in the middle of the day, so we have some big industrial fans to keep the air moving. We aren't trying to be a high-end fashion house with a runway; we're just a group of people who know how to make clothes. It’s hard work, but there’s a good feeling in seeing a finished piece.
