Working out of Tower C in DLF Building 8 is pretty much what you’d expect from Gurgaon. It’s a big glass building and there are always people rushing around with coffee in their hands. We are part of the team here at Oracle India. The office is usually humming with the sound of servers and people talking on headsets. It gets pretty hot outside in the summer, so the air conditioning is a life saver. There are so many floors and elevators, sometimes you wait a while just to get to the lobby. We spend most of our time at our desks, looking at screens and trying to solve problems. The view from the windows is mostly other office towers and a bit of the highway. Commuting to this part of Haryana can be a real headache with the traffic, so most of us get in early or stay late to miss the worst of it. We have a small pantry where people gather to complain about the commute or talk about what they're having for lunch. It’s a professional environment but we try to keep it relaxed among ourselves. Sometimes there are events in the building courtyard. We've been in this spot for a bit now. It feels like a small city inside this one building. You see the same faces every day at the security desk. It's just a regular day-to-day operation here. We have a few plants on our desks to make it look a bit less grey.
